CHS organizes Orientation for Freshmen
The College of Health Sciences KNUST, on the 16th of January 2025 officially welcomed fresh students admitted for the 2024/ 2025 Academic Year with an Orientation session to equip them with the knowledge and information needed to help them succeed in academic and social life on campus.
Students were enlightened by experienced university resource persons on the University’s Assessment/Grading System, and examination regulations to ensure that the new students were well-informed and prepared for their academic assessments.
Other topics covered were the maintenance of University Facilities and Environmental Cleanliness at the College; the Roles of Students, University Health Services, and Student Associations.
The orientation programme also emphasized the importance of financial discipline, the University’s Accounting System and the University’s ICT Services, encouraging students to utilize available support services.
To foster a sense of community, the programme encouraged participation in extracurricular activities and highlighted the benefits of joining clubs and organizations that align with students' interests. This engagement is crucial for building social connections and enhancing the overall university experience.
This hands-on experience aimed to ease their transition into university life and instil a sense of belonging within the KNUST community.
Overall, the orientation programme which hosted over 1300 students provided a comprehensive introduction for freshmen, equipping them with the necessary tools and resources to thrive academically and socially during their time at KNUST.
