Dr. Matthew Opoku-Prempeh, the Energy Minister of Ghana and an alumnus of the School of Medicine and Dentistry (SMD) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has donated five (5) Smart Television sets worth Sixty-Seven thousand, three hundred and ninety-two cedis (67,392ghc) to his alma mater to support the training of medical students on the 20th March 2023.

Dr. Matthew Opoku-Prempeh being part of the Class of 1994 of the School of Medicine and Dentistry recounted his memories as a student and how he got enrolled in 1988. He revealed that the School has shaped him and therefore felt the need to support teaching and learning considering the high number of students admitted every year.

Professor Daniel Ansong, the Dean of the SMD expressed his gratitude to Dr. Opoku-Prempeh for his kind donation. He also stated that the Smart Television sets are instrumental in modern-day teaching and learning considering the fast-paced in technology. He also affirmed that the School of Medicine and Dentistry is still committed to its mandate of rendering the highest standard of medical and dental training through providing a conducive environment and continuously improving upon their status in medical development, collaborative research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and service for development in the society.
