Five CHS students take part in GEMx Exchange Programme

GEMx and CoHS Students Exchange Programme i

Five students from the College of Health Sciences, KNUST (CHS) have taken part in a six-week exchange programme with Global Educational Exchange in Medicine and the Health Professions (GEMx) from 20th June 2022 to 27th July 2022.

GEMx is a global partnership for educational exchange in medicine and the health professions. GEMx partners with individual medical schools, health organizations, and training institutions worldwide to form the GEMx Global Network, as well as with established regional networks in Africa and South East Asia.

The five students who participated in the exchange programme which hosted online were outstanding students selected across the various Schools/Faculties within the CHS. They are; Priscilla Gyamfuah (4th Year Midwifery student), Jacob Ayang (6th Year, School of Veterinary Medicine), Samuel Sekyere (6th Year, School of Medicine and Dentistry), Atum Daniel (6th Year, Pharmacy Student) and Kelvin Haizel Arthur (6th Year, Medical Imaging Student).

The facilitators of the programme who were from the University of Rwanda took the students through report writing, research writing and inter-professional training. The students revealed that programme has prepared them into collaborating with other health professionals to achieving greater goals and better health care delivery.

The students met with Professor Christian Agyare, the Provost of CHS and Ms. Ofeibea Asare, the Career Development Manager of the CHS after the exchange programme. Professor Agyare congratulated the students for successfully completing the exchange programme. He also charged the students to continue pursuing academic excellence an practice good ethics as Health Sciences students.
