Molecular Medicine Department holds orientation for new postgraduate students
The Department of Molecular Medicine has held an orientation session for newly admitted MPhil and PhD students at its laboratory on Friday, January 23, 2026.
The session aimed to introduce students to the department’s academic expectations, research standards, and available support systems.
Head of Department, Prof. Linda Ahenkorah Fondjo, outlined the department’s core values, stressing the importance of academic excellence, research integrity and adherence to ethical standards.
She emphasised the department’s zero-tolerance policy on plagiarism and the misuse of artificial intelligence in postgraduate research.
Prof. Fondjo encouraged students to seek guidance when needed and to utilize the department’s academic and research resources to enhance the quality and relevance of their work.

Members of the teaching staff, including Prof. Margaret Frempong, Prof. Robert Ngala, Prof. Christian Obirikorang, Prof. Samuel Asamoah Sakyi, Dr. Max Annani-Akollor, Dr. Michael Frimpong, Dr. Samuel Nkansah Darko and Dr. Anthony Afum-Adjei Awuah, together with technical staff, took turns to address the students.
They offered advice on postgraduate training and pledged their support towards creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
The Department of Molecular Medicine remains committed to guiding the new cohort of MPhil and PhD students throughout their academic journey, with a focus on research integrity, academic development and contributions to science and national development.
