Professor Christian Agyare Honoured with Africa Role Model in Academic Excellence Award

Professor Christian Agyare, Provost of the College of Health Sciences at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has been awarded the prestigious Africa Role Model in Academic Excellence Award at the Transform Summit and Africa Role Model Awards, organized by the Young Professionals and Youth Coalition (YPYC).
The honour, bestowed on July 26, 2025, is a resounding testament to Professor Agyare’s unwavering dedication to academic excellence, scholarly leadership, and impactful contributions to science and society. A globally recognized scholar, Professor Agyare serves as a Professor of Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Natural Products at the Department of Pharmaceutics, Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, KNUST.
With over 150 peer-reviewed publications, 14 books and book chapters, and more than 4,300 academic citations, Professor Agyare stands as one of Ghana’s most distinguished researchers. His work continues to influence pharmaceutical science and public health, both regionally and internationally. He is consistently ranked among the top scholars at KNUST and nationally.

As Provost of the College of Health Sciences, Professor Agyare provides academic and administrative leadership to one of West Africa’s leading health education institutions. Under his guidance, the College continues to train the next generation of health professionals and researchers committed to improving healthcare outcomes across the continent.
