I am a veterinary doctor by profession. I pursued applied epidemiology and disease control at the university of Ghana, Legon, under a One Health program. I was employed as a District veterinary officer in 2002 in charge of North Tongu District at a time. The district is currently known as Central Tongu in the Volta Region. I worked for 12 years covering central tongu, north tongu, parts of Adaklu and its environs. My main field activites were on vaccinations for cattle, sheep, goats and poultry against diseases such as CBPP, PPR, Anthrax, fowl pox etc. Part of my work was to oversee the daily activities of technicians who were stationed in zonal areas of the district. I was the head of animal health in the district so attended district heads meeting offering my expertise in both animal and zoonotic diseases such as Rabies, Bruccellosis, anthrax etc. Rabies became my passion after seeing a cowboy die of the disease. Since then, my efforts in helping eliminate the disease hightened through which i assisted in more vaccination in dogs agaisnt rabies.
