The College of Health Sciences (CHS) at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) recently organized a comprehensive two-day workshop for newly appointed faculty members, including lecturers and other academic staff, to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills for their roles. The event took place on January 9th and 10th, 2025, in the College Board Room.

The workshop aimed to enhance the capacity of the participants to effectively contribute to the College’s academic and operational success. It also provided a platform for knowledge exchange among experienced resource persons and the newly appointed faculty members.

In his opening remarks, the Provost of CHS, Professor Christian Agyare, congratulated the new faculty members, recognizing their dedication and commitment to joining the College in these key academic roles. He also acknowledged the collective efforts of all faculty members in contributing to the College’s growth and excellence in 2024. As part of the College's vision, the Provost encouraged the new faculty members to work diligently to uphold and enhance the College’s reputation for academic rigor and operational excellence.

Throughout the workshop, the participants engaged in a series of practical sessions aimed at strengthening their leadership, teaching, and administrative capabilities. The training covered a wide range of essential topics, including maintaining quality academic standards, effective time management, conducting examinations, career progression within KNUST, securing research grants, and ensuring security on and off campus. The workshop provided invaluable insights into navigating their new responsibilities while fostering a productive and supportive academic environment.

By the end of the two-day workshop, the participants expressed their gratitude for the training and felt fully equipped to take on the challenges of their roles. They were confident that the skills and knowledge gained would enable them to make significant contributions to the College and the University as a whole.
