As part of its commitment to strengthening clinical education and industry collaboration, the Department of Medical Diagnostics of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, KNUST, has made a donation to Bryant Mission Hospital, Obuasi, to support the practical training of Medical Laboratory Sciences students from the Obuasi Campus of the University undertaking their clinical placement at the facility.

The donation was presented by Dr. Isaac Acheampong, Lecturer in the Department of Medical Diagnostics, together with Dr. (Mrs.) Vida Maame Kissiwaa Amoah, Coordinator of SONM/AHS, Obuasi Campus, on behalf of the Head of Department, Dr. Michael Owusu. Items donated included essential consumables and supplies to support both student learning and service delivery at the hospital.

During the presentation, Dr. Acheampong conveyed the Department’s sincere appreciation to the management and staff of Bryant Mission Hospital for their continued partnership and dedication to the professional training of students. He emphasized that the hospital has remained an important clinical training partner in providing students with hands-on experience that complements classroom instruction.

He further highlighted the importance of sustained collaboration between academia and healthcare institutions, noting that stronger partnerships between universities and industry are essential for producing competent, highly skilled healthcare professionals who can meet the demands of the modern job market.

The Department remains committed to fostering mutually beneficial relationships with healthcare facilities that contribute meaningfully to the training and development of future medical laboratory professionals.
