HESA-KNUST Elects New Executives to Lead the Association for the 2026/2027 Academic Year
The Health Sciences Students' Association (HESA) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has successfully elected a new team of student leaders to steer the affairs of the Association for the 2026/2027 academic year.
The elections, held on 15th June 2026, ushered in a new crop of executives who will champion the interests of students within the College of Health Sciences and continue the Association's mission of promoting academic excellence, leadership, professionalism, innovation, and service to humanity.
HESA serves as the umbrella body representing students across the various health sciences disciplines at KNUST. Since its establishment nine years ago, the Association has grown into a vibrant and influential student organization with a population of approximately 8,000 students drawn from diverse healthcare programmes within the College.
Leading the newly elected administration is Mr. Clifford Amoah Takyi, a fifth-year Doctor of Pharmacy student, who was elected President of the Association. He will be supported by Mr. Khehsedad Saeed, a second-year Medicine student, who assumes the role of Vice President.

- Vice President: Khehsedad Saeed (2nd Year Medicine)
- General Secretary: Stephanie Yaa Boampong (3rd Year BSc Nursing)
- Financial Secretary: Bernard Owusu (4th Year Medicine)
- Organizing Secretary: Stephen Atta Fosu (2nd Year Veterinary Medicine)
- Women's Commissioner: Dimmie Ilham (3rd Year Herbal Medicine)
- Health Officer: Philip Akpah (3rd Year Doctor of Pharmacy)
The newly elected executives are expected to provide visionary leadership and work collaboratively with students, faculty, and stakeholders to advance the welfare and aspirations of the health sciences student community.
As they prepare to assume office, members of the Association have expressed confidence in the ability of the incoming leadership to build on the achievements of previous administrations and introduce innovative initiatives that will strengthen student engagement, professional development, academic growth, and community service.
The College of Health Sciences extends its congratulations to the newly elected executives and wishes them a successful tenure as they embark on the responsibility of leading one of KNUST's most vibrant student associations.
