The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) College of Health Sciences has successfully climaxed its series of Inter-Departmental and Class Quiz Competitions with a thrilling College Inter-School and Faculty Quiz Competition held on 5th June 2026 at the Boadi Medical Enclave.

The highly anticipated contest brought together the brightest minds from the various Schools and Faculties within the College, all vying for the coveted title of overall champions. The competition formed part of activities marking the KNUST 75th Anniversary celebrations and showcased the intellectual depth, teamwork, and academic excellence that define the College of Health Sciences.

Representing their respective Schools and Faculties were teams from the School of Public Health, School of Medical Sciences, School of Dentistry, School of Nursing and Midwifery, School of Veterinary Medicine, and the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences. Having emerged victorious in their preliminary departmental and class-level competitions, the contestants advanced to the grand finale with high hopes and determination.

The competition featured four challenging rounds designed to test participants' knowledge, analytical skills, and quick thinking. The first round focused on knowledge of KNUST, while the second examined contestants' understanding of the life and legacy of Ghana's first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. The third round tested participants on current affairs, and the contest culminated in an exciting mixed rapid-fire round that kept the audience on the edge of their seats.

Throughout the competition, contestants displayed remarkable confidence and intellectual prowess as they tackled questions spanning history, governance, academia, and contemporary global issues. The atmosphere in the auditorium was electric, with supporters enthusiastically cheering on their teams and celebrating every correct answer.

After an intense battle of wits, the School of Dentistry emerged as the overall winner, demonstrating consistency and exceptional performance across all four rounds. The victorious team comprised Darkwa Ohemeng Nana, Ayisha Ziblim, Maxwell Tawiah, and Ameyaw Ernest.

Contestants from the School of Nursing and Midwifery pick up the 1st Runner Up position

The School of Nursing and Midwifery secured the position of first runners-up, while the School of Veterinary Medicine finished as second runners-up following commendable performances. Their achievements reflected the high academic standards and competitive spirit that characterize the College.

Speaking after the event, participants and spectators alike praised the competition for promoting healthy academic rivalry, teamwork, and a culture of continuous learning among students. The quiz competition also provided an avenue for students from different disciplines to engage, network, and celebrate the shared pursuit of excellence.

As the curtains fall on the College-wide quiz competition, the event stands as yet another successful activity under the KNUST 75th Anniversary celebrations, reaffirming the University's commitment to nurturing well-rounded graduates equipped with knowledge, leadership skills, and a passion for excellence.
