SMS Alumnus Supports Students with Donations Worth Over $3,000

Dr. Ernest Kwadwo Paul Kwarko, a member of the 1999 graduating class of the School of Medical Sciences (SMS), has made a financial contribution to support students of the institution.
As part of his recent efforts, Dr. Kwarko awarded a cash prize of $500 to the Best Student in Community Health during the 2025 Graduation Ceremony.
In addition, he donated $2,000 to the Students’ Elective Scholarship Support Fund, aimed at assisting students in meeting the costs associated with their elective programmes.
To mark the 50th anniversary of the School of Medical Sciences, Dr. Kwarko also contributed €500 as a special bonus to strengthen the scholarship fund.

Dean of the School, Professor Akwasi Antwi Kusi, expressed appreciation for the gesture, stating that it reflects a strong commitment to academic growth, student development, and the improvement of medical education in the country.
“These acts of generosity go beyond financial support. They motivate our students to strive for excellence, empower them to broaden their horizons through international exposure, and affirm our shared vision of positioning the School of Medical Sciences among the best globally,” the Dean said.
The School of Medical Sciences is currently marking its 50th Anniversary.
The Dean described the donation as a significant example of continued partnership between alumni and the institution.
