Dr. George Ainooson Receives It Equipment Worth €6900 From Giz To Support Training And Research At The KNUST Faculty Of Pharmacy And Pharmaceutical Sciences
Dr. George Ainooson on the 14th March 2023 received a set of modern information technology (IT) equipment worth €6900 from the German International Cooperation organisation GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) as a workplace equipment grant to build a computer cluster for laboratory simulation, data acquisition and processing for undergraduate and postgraduate pharmacology research work.
Dr George Ainooson, a Senior Lecturer at the KNUST Department of Pharmacology explained that the grant is given by the German Government under the GIZ mandate to provide support for migrants who have studied in Germany or worked for several years in a specific field and return to use their expertise for the development of their country of origin.
The items included; Desktop computers, a camera, a hard drive, projectors, and LED monitor screens. Dr George Ainooson together with Prof Kwame Ohene Buabeng, the Vice Dean of the KNUST Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences expressed their gratitude to GIZ for the provision of the IT equipment and for their collaboration to develop the Faculty, the University, and Ghana as a whole.
Prof Kwame Ohene Buabeng concluded by saying that the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is ready to give Dr. Ainooson all the support in his works and has already earmarked a space to set up the computer laboratory to support teaching and learning.
