CHS holds a 4-day Retreat for College Board Members
The College of Health Sciences (CHS) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has held a four-day retreat for their Board Members at Rock City Hotel in Kwahu-Nkwatia under the theme “Reflect and Recharge for Better Performance and Achievement”.
The 4-day programme held from the 3rd to 6th December 2023 offered moments of relaxation, reflection and an avenue to recoup new and existing knowledge for better performance and maintain the lofty standard of the College of Health Sciences in the subsequent academic years.

Professor Ellis Owusu Dabo, the Pro Vice-Chancellor of KNUST in his remarks to the College Board during the retreat, applauded the members for their tireless efforts in making KNUST the number one destination for quality education and also fulfilling the mission of the University to advance knowledge in science and technology through creating an environment for undertaking relevant research, quality teaching, entrepreneurship training and community engagement to improve the quality of life. Professor Owusu Dabo urged the Board Members to embrace new technology and the use of Artificial Intelligence in delivering their mandate.
The Board Members also had a workshop titled; “Change Management” facilitated by Mr. Herman Addo-Yobo from Lead-It Africa. During the session, Mr. Herman Addo-Yobo of Lead-It Africa highlighted the workshop as a sequel to a project initiated two years prior, underlining their assessment of the College of Health Sciences. He communicated that the College of Health Sciences' advancement will be steered by seven fundamental pillars identified as FIDLETS. Embedded within each pillar are specific initiatives that call for not just infrastructural changes, but also shifts in mindset and behaviour. The intention is to introduce participants to the principles of change management, to grasp the common causes behind unsuccessful change endeavours, and to assist in devising strategies for change initiatives to minimize the probability of failure and heighten the chances of success.

As part of the engaging activities of the retreat, the members were involved in daily aerobic exercises and several games to fulfil the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 4 of Good Health and Well-being.

In wrapping up the remarkable four-day retreat, the Provost of the College of Health Sciences Prof. Christian Agyare extended his heartfelt gratitude to all participants for their unwavering commitment, insightful contributions, and enthusiasm throughout the time together. He thanked them once again for their wholehearted participation and looked forward to the continued collaboration and future accomplishments.
