The Provost of the KNUST College of Health Sciences, Prof. Christian Agyare, has urged the 2025 graduating class to uphold humility, empathy, and integrity as they transition into their respective health careers.
Speaking at the Universityโs 59th Congregation ceremony, Prof. Agyare reminded the graduands that their academic journey has prepared them for more than professional success; it has prepared them to serve humanity.
He described their qualification as โnot merely an academic achievement, but a call to serve humanity,โ emphasizing that their training has equipped them with critical thinking, innovation, and problem-solving skills essential for leadership in Ghanaโs healthcare sector.
He also encouraged them to join the KNUST Alumni Association as an avenue for networking, mentorship, and giving back to the university.
This year, the KNUST College of Health Sciences is graduating 1,711 undergraduate students, consisting of 763 males (44.6%) and 948 females (55.4%) who have met all academic requirements.
The Congregation Ceremony for the College is being held in two sessions.
The morning session is dedicated to the conferment of degrees on graduands from the KNUST Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, the School of Veterinary Medicine, and the KNUST School of Nursing and Midwifery
The afternoon session will witness the conferment of degrees on graduands from the KNUST School of Medical Sciences, the KNUST School of Dentistry, the KNUST School of Public Health and the KNUST Faculty of Allied Health Sciences.
The ceremony also celebrated the outstanding academic feat of Nereus Mensah Gyasi, who emerged as the Overall Best Graduating Student and Valedictorian for the College of Health Sciences.
Nereus, from the KNUST School of Public Health, graduated with an impressive Cumulative Weighted Average (CWA) of 80.50 in the BSc Disability and Rehabilitation Studies programme.
His achievement, the Provost noted, reflects exceptional discipline, resilience, and academic brilliance, serving as an inspiration to the entire graduating class.
