The College of Health Sciences (CHS) has once again demonstrated excellence beyond the lecture halls, delivering a stellar performance at the KNUST Chess Games organized by the KNUST Sports Directorate on March 21, 2026.

In an impressive display of strategy, focus, and competitive spirit, CHS clinched both the male and female championship titles, emerging as the overall winners of the tournament.

The male team, made up of Alexis Baffour Annor (5th Year Pharm D student), Justin Boadu (6th Year Pharm D student), and Michael Adu (3rd Year Medical Student), showcased remarkable coordination and tactical prowess. The trio maintained an unbeaten run throughout the competition, winning all five of their matches to secure the top spot.

Equally outstanding was Jubilee Roxanne Bleboo, a 3rd Year Medical Student, who single-handedly represented CHS in the female category. She delivered a flawless performance, winning all five of her games to be crowned the female champion, further cementing CHS’s dominance in the tournament.

The team’s achievement was formally recognized during a presentation ceremony, where the trophies were presented to the Provost, Prof. Christian Agyare, and the College’s management. In his remarks, Prof. Agyare expressed immense pride in the students’ accomplishments, commending their discipline, determination, and excellence.

He encouraged the students to continue striving for academic success while actively engaging in extracurricular activities that contribute to their holistic development.

The victory not only highlights the intellectual versatility of CHS students but also reinforces the College’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals who excel both academically and in co-curricular pursuits.
